Living true to her word of putting smiles on the faces of poultry farmers on Vital Feed; Grand Cereals & Oil Mils Limited (GCL), a subsidiary of uac of nigeria plc in collaboration with Nigeria Agricultural Insurance Corporation (NAIC) recently compensated her farmers who had mortalities on their farms but were insured under the GCL-NAIC Insurance Scheme.
The event was held at Janesh Farm one of the recipients who lost 1,300 birds and was compensated to the tune of N 1, 022, 407 (One Million and Twenty-Two Thousand, Four Hundred and Seven Naira).
Other farms / farmers that were compensated include Rev. Stephen Okolie of Anamonye Farms Ltd. who lost over 300 birds and was compensated with the amount of N 259, 689.60 (Two Hundred and Fifty Nine Thousand, Six Hundred and Eighty Nine Naira, Sixty Kobo) and Mrs. Josephine Shike who received N 158, 961 (One Hundred and Fifty Eight Thousand, Nine Hundred and Sixty One Naira) for the loss of her 200 birds.
These farmers lost their birds to Marek’s, a viral disease; but it was all smiles at the event due to the GCL – NAIC Insurance Coverage Initiative.
